Our friends at The Battle of Falkirk Muir 1746 are excited to announce tickets are now on sale for their 2023 conference. The event is taking place on Saturday 21st January 2023 in Falkirk at Beancross Farm, FK2 0XS.
The day will start at 10am and end at 4pm.
Speakers in the line-up include:
- Count Peter Pininski – The Author’s Reflections: Bonnie Prince Charlie – His Life, Family, Legend – a discussion about his latest book.
- Dr Arran Johnston – Bonnie Prince Charlie’s involvement in the battles of the ’45 – a look at his new book due to be published in June.
- Dr Andrew Bamford – Franco / Irish involvement in the ’45
- Dr Bendor Grosvenor -Discussion regarding Jacobite art
- V&A guest speaker – Talking about about their upcoming major exhibition on Tartan. The Battle of Falkirk Muir Trust has lent various artefacts from our collection for the exhibition.
- 6th speaker – to be confirmed shortly
In addition to the primary programme there will also be the following:
1 Book sales and book signings by our authors.
2 A small exhibition of some of Falkirk Muir 1746 Museum’s paintings, including Alexis Simon Belle’s ‘Ambassador’ portrait of James VIII which was previously owned by the Earl of Standish of Standish Hall in 1745.
